Police of Dnipropetrovsk region discovered a greenhouse with hemp worth more than two million hryvnias
The 34-year-old tenant of a land plot in Kryvyi Rih district equipped the greenhouse with a drip irrigation system, grew and carefully cared for drug-containing plants.
The court-sanctioned search was conducted on October 5 in the village of Shevchenkivske, Kryvyi Rih district by the police department for combating drug crime in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the investigative department of the police department № 3 of the Kryvyi Rih district police department and under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor of Kryvyi Rih district prosecutor's office.
During the search, police officers discovered and seized 47 cannabis bushes, samples of which were sent for examination.
After conducting relevant research, a decision will be made to open criminal proceedings under Art. 310 (sowing or growing dreamy poppy or hemp) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the prices of the “black” market, the value of the seized physical evidence is more than 2 million hryvnias.
Investigative measures were carried out in the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Art. 307 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Police are currently carrying out measures to establish the involvement of others in illegal activities of sowing and growing cannabis.
