Training in Anti-Corruption Legislation
On the basis of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs with the support and participation of representatives of the Department of Radiological Security of the US Department of Energy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, an initial seminar on the development of a course of police response to the threat of theft of ionizing radiation sources during use, storage or transportation was held entrainment.
The purpose of the seminar is to train employees of higher education institutions with specific conditions, development of training courses on the specified topic for further implementation of a single course in the educational process.
The seminar was opened by Deputy Director of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine — Head of the Main Directorate for Security Sector Sustainability and Critical Infrastructure Protection Gennadiy Honcharuk. Among the participants of the training are representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and higher education institutions with specific training conditions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The program of the seminar, which lasted for four days, provided for both webinars and work in groups. Valery Sokurenko, the rector of the university, congratulated the participants of the seminar on the completion of their training. He thanked the organizers of the event for their high trust in the university, which was chosen as the base for conducting the exercises, and emphasized that “the acquired knowledge and techniques will be successfully used by the participants of the seminar in the educational process to increase the level of radiation awareness of police officers. Cooperation with international institutions and their specialists provides access to new techniques, modern technologies and equipment, and this is very important.”
Deputy Director of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine — Head of the Main Directorate for Security Sector Sustainability and Critical Infrastructure Protection Gennadiy Honcharuk noted that such exercises are another step towards the implementation of the program of reintegration of the occupied territories. He thanked the university management for the high level of organization of the seminar and noted the high pace at which the educational institution and its educational base are developing. “It is always a pleasure to work here and I am convinced that our constructive cooperation will continue. I also hope that the course of radiation awareness of police officers will be included in the training programs as one of the main training courses,” said Hennadiy Alekseevich.
All participants of the seminar received the relevant certificates, which were presented by the rector of the university Valeriy Sokurenko and the first vice-rector Dmytro Shvets.
