In Vinnytsia region, the police blocked the channel of drug supply to places of imprisonment
Organized the activities of an interregional criminal group called “surveillance” in one of the correctional colonies of the region. He has been repeatedly convicted of property and drug crimes, and is now serving a sentence for maliciously failing to comply with the legal requirements of the administration of the correctional institution. As accomplices, he attracted previously convicted residents of Zaporozhye, who were at large. The drugs were delivered to the penitentiary in packages of products.
Investigators of the regional head of police, together with employees of the Office of Strategic Investigations and the USBU in Vinnytsia region, exposed the criminal activity of the attackers and liquidated the drug supply channel. During the year, the police documented the illegal activities of a criminal group, which included about ten people.
Organized a channel for the supply of narcotic substances to the closed territory by 32 year old prisoners of one of the colonies of the region. He maintained criminal traditions, thereby gaining authority among other convicts and obtaining the status of the so-called “spectator”. He involved previously convicted residents of Zaporozhye, who were at large, to criminal activities. Accomplices passed psychotropic substances hidden in food to the convicts. Subsequently, the convicts transferred the drug to the organizer of the group.
On January 12, police officers with the force support of KORD fighters and the operational department of the correctional colony “Cyclone” conducted sanctioned searches.
According to Yevhen Kronivets, the head of the Department of Investigation of Particularly Serious Crimes of the Investigative Department of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region, the searches were conducted simultaneously in the institution serving sentences and in Zaporizhzhia at the place of residence of accomplices. Investigators seized narcotic substances, cell phones, draft records, SIM cards and other evidence of their illegal activities from the suspects.
Documentation of the activities of the organized criminal group was carried out under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor's office within the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues or transfer of these substances to places of imprisonment) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.
