The scheme of sale of fake international COVID-19 vaccination certificates was exposed in Sumy region
Investigators of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy Oblast, under the operational support of the Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Sumy Oblast, under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, suspended the activity of a family medicine doctor and an individual who, according to a preliminary conspiracy, organized a scheme for the sale of international certificates on vaccination against COVID-19 with data entry into the information system.
It was established that a resident of the regional center through one of the messengers was looking for those who wanted to receive a certificate without mandatory vaccination. After receiving payment “for work”, the man transferred the data of these persons to a medical worker, who entered them into the information system of the National Health Service of Ukraine. Therefore, information about vaccination against COVID-19 appeared in the mobile application “Diya”.
According to preliminary data, customers paid an average of 3 thousand hryvnias for such a certificate.
Yesterday, October 26, during the authorized searches of the places of work and residence of the defendants of criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers seized computer equipment, cash, medical documents, etc.
Investigative actions are currently underway. The issue of handing a notice of suspicion to a doctor and an individual is being resolved. According to this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 3 of Art. 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps), part 2 of Art. 361 (Unauthorized interference in the operation of electronic computers (computers), automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
