In Lviv region, law enforcement officers revealed the scheme of production and sale of fake SOVID-19 vaccination certificates
Three members of the criminal group — a 42-year-old native of Zaporizhzhia, a 24-year-old resident of Lviv region and a 33-year-old Lviv resident — were informed by investigators of suspicion of forgery of documents. For their actions, they face up to five years in prison.
A group of persons with international connections who were engaged in forgery and sale of vaccination certificates on the territory of Ukraine and abroad were exposed by the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Department in the sphere of economic and service activities of the Lviv Oblast Police together with the employees of the Department of Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office Rays.
As law enforcement officers established during the pre-trial investigation, the group members had clearly distributed responsibilities — some searched for persons wishing to obtain vaccination certificates without actual vaccination, others directly produced certificates and sent them to customers.
On November 12, four authorized searches were carried out in Lviv and on the territory of Lviv region for the places of residence of the defendants and in the vehicle of one of them. During the searches, law enforcement officers discovered and seized several dozen certificates of vaccination, seals of medical institutions and doctors, computer equipment on which fake vaccination passports were made, forms of a medical laboratory with a signature and seal, a bank card, which was the transfer of funds for forged certificates, as well as money obtained by criminal means, in the amount of more than 7900 euros and 2,300 US dollars.
Investigators reported the suspicion of the group members - a 42-year-old native of Zaporizhia who searched for customers, a 24-year-old resident of the Lviv region who directly produced fake certificates, and a 33-year-old Lviv resident who sent ready-made certificates by mail - in committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 358 (Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps, committed repeatedly or by prior conspiracy by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanctions of the article is imprisonment for up to five years.
The pre-trial investigation continues.
