Cyberpolice of Dnipropetrovsk region exposed two people in the sale of fake COVID certificates

For 1200 UAH, the medical worker and her partner offered citizens to purchase a certificate of vaccination with the entry of information into the electronic health system. For the crime, women face up to 3 years in prison.

The offenses were exposed by cyber police officers of the Dnipropetrovsk region together with investigators of the Department No. 3 of the Sinelnikov Regional Police Department and in cooperation with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Resources.

The scheme for the production of fake certificates was organized by a 29-year-old nurse together with her 35-year-old acquaintance, who acted as an intermediary.

Covid certificate customers did not undergo any laboratory tests and vaccination procedures, but only provided their data for documentation.

As a result, unvaccinated citizens received electronic COVID certificates, which were displayed in the Action app. The cost of the fake certificate was 1200 hryvnia.

Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying persons who have used the services of defendants.

At the places of work and residence of offenders, law enforcement officers conducted searches. Certificates of vaccination were withdrawn along with copies of passports of citizens of Ukraine, an incomplete certificate with seals.

According to this fact, criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 361 (unauthorized interference in the operation of computers, automated systems, computer networks or telecommunication networks, which led to leakage, loss, falsification, blocking of information, distortion of the process of information processing or to violation of the established procedure for its routing) Criminal The Code of Ukraine. The issue of declaring suspicion to the defendants is being resolved.
