Denis Monastyrskyi: Aeromedical evacuation resumed in Lviv region

This was announced today, October 2, by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky during a visit to the air base of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Lviv region, where a police helicopter is on duty.

“From today, doctors in Lviv region can again use aeromedical evacuation of patients for emergency care. The National Police helicopter Airbus Helicopters H145 will be on round-the-clock duty,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Denis Monastyrsky together with the mayor of Lviv Andrey Sadov talked with pilots, medics and staff of the air base.

“The program of medical and rescue aviation was introduced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Ministry of Health to help citizens who need emergency medical care and live in remote settlements. Where it is impossible to get by car and when the bill goes for minutes - then helicopters will work,” the minister said.

Also Denis Monastyrsky stressed that the crew includes pilots and medics, duty is carried out around the clock, without days off. Currently, the readiness for departure is 7-10 minutes. In the near future, bring this time to 5 minutes.

The French-made H145 helicopter of Airbus Helicopters is equipped to fulfill evacuation and sanitation needs. It can also be used for airborne landing, reconnaissance and search for people. Equipped with everything necessary for the work of doctors to save lives.

“Our plans are to make such airbases in every region of Ukraine within 3 years. We solve infrastructure issues and count on the help of local communities,” said Denis Monastyrsky.

Recall that the air fleet of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and ambulance crews must effectively interact in order to save citizens.
