Ukraine and Canada agreed to create a Mobility Working Group to respond to global challenges and continue dialogue on migration and mobility matters

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov and Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada the Hon. Marco Mendicino signed a Letter of Intent on the Establishment of the Canada-Ukraine Mobility Working Group between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada.

The Group’s work will be focused on a wide range of migration and mobility related issues, as well as travel facilitation for Ukraine’s nationals travelling to Canada.

«The Mobility Working Group will become an effective instrument to jointly respond to global migration-related challenges as well as a new platform for dialogue on facilitation of travel requirements for Ukraine’s nationals travelling to Canada», Dmytro Kuleba said.

Minister Arsen Avakov underlined that the establishment of the Mobility Working Group will allow the Parties to further strengthen the special status of the Ukraine-Canada Partnership and will contribute to the implementation of the set of measures aimed at developing cooperation between the competent authorities of Ukraine and Canada.
