This was reported by the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State - the Head of Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), Kirsten Madison during an official visit to Ukraine.

"Police reform is one of the most striking elements of how might look like a modern Ukraine. Your Patrol Police, your KORD - special purpose unit, as well as the Border Guard Service of Ukraine, are implementing advanced Western standards and practices in their work," - she said.

Recall, that yesterday, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov had a meeting with Kirsten Madison, during which the parties discussed the possibility of involving American colleagues in new joint projects.

"This wasn’t one meeting, but rather a few small meetings with Arsen Avakov. We discussed the reform of the law enforcement agencies with their representatives. In general, my impression is positive," -  the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State said.

During her visit to Ukraine, Kirsten Madison also visited fifth graduation of students from the Academy of Patrol Police.
