Two men detained in Dnipropetrovsk region for trying to bribe police
A resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region tried to avoid criminal responsibility by offering illegal benefits to the investigating police. The second resident with the same question turned to the deputy chief of the city police unit. Law enforcers immediately informed the internal security of the NPU about the corruption proposals.
The investigator of the Novokodatsk branch of the Dnipro police reported to the Dnipropetrovsk department of the FIB NPU with information about the defendant in criminal proceedings who offered him a bribe. For non-prosecution for illegal logging of the forest, a 35-year-old man promised to provide a monetary reward.
Immediately after the transfer of five thousand hryvnias in the service office to the senior lieutenant of the police, a resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region was detained by UDVB employees of the NPU and investigators of Novokodatsky VP, under the procedural guidance of the Dnipro local prosecutor's office. The funds provided were withdrawn, and the briber was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
On the same day, in Pavlograd, another man was caught trying to bribe an official. A 28-year-old resident of one of the settlements of the Pavlograd district was exposed by police officers to sell drugs.
In order not to get behind bars, the suspect turned to the deputy chief of the city police department - the chief of the criminal police with a proposal to provide a three thousand dollars bribe.
The police major reported on the plans of the attacker to the internal security officers of the police. According to the materials of the UDVB of the NPU Pavlograd Local Prosecutor's Office, information was entered into the ERDR under Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The next time the man came to the police and handed over the first part of the promised bribe - 31 thousand hryvnias, he was detained with material evidence by employees of the Dnipropetrovsk UDVB NPU, investigators of the Pavlograd VP, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office and with the participation of special police fighters appointment of GUNP of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Both detained defendants have been declared under suspicion. In addition to previously committed offenses, they will also be responsible for bribing police officers. For such an offense, imprisonment for a term of four to eight years is provided.
