Arsen Avakov visited the workshop of the "Airbus" plant, where helicopters are assembled for Ukraine (PHOTO)

Today, on 4th of October, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov and the Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin got acquainted with the assembling process of the helicopters H125 and H225 type in the framework of a working visit to France.

The delegation visited Airbus Helicopters plant in the French city of Marignane and saw all the stages of building helicopters: from the first line when there is a work on electricity and hydraulics of the aerial vehicle and ending with the last stage - the test flight.

It is at this enterprise will be executed the order of Ukraine for the manufacture and delivery of the 55 helicopters of different types for the needs of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and National Police of Ukraine.

Arsen Avakov said that the contract on purchase of French helicopters for the needs of the governmental services is "a decisive and qualitative step forward."  

"It really brings us to a higher level. Maintenance of these aerial vehicles will be carried out in Ukraine. So, this is really a different quality level both in terms of flight safety and in terms of effectiveness, "said the Minister.

At the plant it has been said that the helicopters are assembly in 9 stages. Each stage takes three days, and it takes 27 days to complete the helicopter assembly. After that the helicopter is passed to the stage of painting and it takes approximatelly10 days. The next stage is testing when two or three flights are conducted.

Senior Vice President of Airbus Helicopters Olivier Mishalon emphasized that his company will make every effort to ensure full satisfaction of the needs of Ukrainian customers.

Recall that by the end of this year Ukraine will receive the first four helicopters from a French company. Three helicopters will be on service in the units of the SES, and one in the National Guard.
