During his visit to the United States, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov held a working meeting with the Chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Congressman Devin Nunes.

The parties discussed the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the real mechanisms of their reintegration.

"Currently, we are facing a very ambitious task, namely to conduct the de-occupation of Donbas. We understand that the liberation of the territory and the restoration of control over the eastern border will be a police operation involving peacekeeping forces, not military. My vision of this process is "the tactics of small steps, where each of them causes applauds", the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasized.

He explained that the basic steps in the tactics of "small steps" are the gradual liberation of the occupied territories.

Chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Devin Nunes assured that Ukraine could be confident in further US support for restoring control over the Donbas.

Recall that during his working visit, the Minister of the of Internal Affairs of Ukraine also has signed a Memorandum on Mutual Cooperation with the Director of the USA Federal Bureau of Investigation Christopher Rey. The document concerns cooperation on combating cybercrime and organized crime.
