The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said that the unified international platform on combating organized crime will start to work in Ukraine.

He stated this today, on April 17, after a meeting with senior officials from the US Department of State.

“Together with the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell we have discussed in detail the plan for the return of Donbass and Crimea by using “step by step” strategy, and creation of the unified international platform on combating organized crime, in particular Russian crime, in Ukraine” Arsen Avakov said.

In his turn, Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Vyacheslav Abroshkin added that negotiations had already begun with US partners on the creation on the territory of Ukraine of an USA Office on the combating drug-related crimes, in addition, Ukrainian officers will be able to study in American educational institutions.

"We have seen a support for all our initiatives. And we have already begun the negotiations on the creation on the territory of Ukraine of an USA Office on the combating drug-related crimes. Already, we have an agreement that American Officer from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will work on a permanent basis in Ukraine. This will enable us to effectively exchange information. And also, we already have more than a million dollars to train Ukrainian police officers at the DEA Academy”, Vyacheslav Abroshkin said.

Recall that in February 2018, the unit on combating organized crime has started to work as a part of the National Police of Ukraine. The Department is engaged in combating socially dangerous organized groups and criminal organizations, in particular, leaders of criminal organizations which have an impact on socially important spheres of life.
