Arsen Avakov Expressed Condolence In Connection With The Death Of Pilots Of Su-27 In Vinnytsia Region

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov expressed his condolence in connection with the tragic death of pilots of the Su-27 fighter aircraft during the drills in the peaceful sky over Vinnytsia, which took place within the framework of the international exercises Clear Sky-2018.

The Colonel Ivan Petrenko, the Chief of Aviation of Ukraine's 'East' Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the pilot of the 144th Fighter Wing, California Air National Guard died in this crash.

Arsen Avakov expressed his deep condolence to the families and friends of the dead officers, and also sent a letter to the Major General David S. Baldwin, General-Adjutant of the California National Guard (USA): " I sincerely ask you to convey the words of my deep condolence to the family and friends of the fallen officer, who arrived in Ukraine with readiness to support us in a difficult historical period.

"We highly appreciate long-term cooperation with our colleagues from the California National Guard, as well as the powerful Ukrainian-American partnership," the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.

Recall, the fighter aircraft Su-27 crashed on 16 of October, 2018 in Vinnytsia region near Ulanov village (between Berdychiv and Khmelnyk). Both pilots died.
