In Kyiv, the cyber police stopped the scheme of production and sale of fake COVID certificates

Two doctors, through an intermediary, offered to manufacture COVID certificates without carrying out the vaccination procedure. This service cost 5500 hryvnias. Offenders may face up to 8 years in prison for a crime committed.

The illegal activities of three citizens were exposed by employees of the Kyiv Cybercrime Office.

A 31-year-old man posted ads about making fake vaccination certificates in closed groups in instant messengers. The defendant acted as an intermediary and later transferred the order to two medical workers. In turn, doctors entered false information about vaccination against Covid-19 into the electronic health system.

As a result, unvaccinated citizens received COVID certificates. The cost of the fake certificate was 5500 hryvnia. Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing citizens who have used the services of offenders.

Police officers conducted searches of the places of residence and place of work of doctors. Documents confirming illegal actions were found on working computers.

Criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Two defendants have already been charged with suspicion. The sanction of the article provides for up to 8 years in prison. Investigative actions continue. Procedural management is carried out by the Holosiivska District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv.
