Emergency rescue worker Vladimir Yarmolyuk on this day two years ago, on March 15, 2022, returned home from duty in Bolshoy Dimerk, which was already under Russian occupation.

At home, his pregnant wife Victoria was waiting for him, who, as soon as he received a call from Vladimir, grabbed to open the gate in the courtyard. However, this meeting did not end with joyful hugs. Victoria had the worst experience of her life.

A column of enemy vehicles drove to meet Vladimir's car - this happened 20 meters from the house. After the occupiers rolled the wheels of the car, Vladimir came out with his arms raised.

According to neighbors, shots were heard immediately, despite the fact that the invaders saw an unarmed rescuer.

Due to the danger and the already occupied settlement, Vladimir Yarmolyuk's relatives were buried in the garden in the courtyard. Only after the liberation of Kyiv region, and in particular Brovarsky district, was the rescuer of the State Emergency Service able to be adequately reburied in a local cemetery.

Later, Victoria gave birth to her firstborn, Timothy, who looks like a father, like two drops of water. For more details about the tragic story of the rescuer of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service, see the project “Shot by Russia” from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This series is dedicated to the memory of Vladimir Yarmolyuk until the second anniversary of his death.
