Held a position in the Russian law enforcement agency: a suspected collaborator was reported
Law enforcement officers of the Kherson region exposed a 34-year-old local resident in collaborationism. During the temporary occupation of Kherson, the woman got a job in an illegally created law enforcement agency - the so-called “main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kherson region”.
In early June 2022, a 34-year-old Kherson housewife voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the occupiers at her own request. The woman was appointed to the position of the so-called “constantly exercising attachment of the socialist of the passport and visa service of the Dnieper city department of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kherson region”.
The official duties of the defendant included issuing questionnaires for obtaining a Russian passport, issuing “address certificates” to residents of the Kherson region for the subsequent receipt of a Russian passport, conducting a procedure for identifying persons who lost passport documents, for the subsequent compilation of “address certificates”.
The actions of the offender were qualified by investigators under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 “Collaborative activities” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. That is, voluntary employment by a citizen of Ukraine of a position in an illegal law enforcement agency established in the temporarily occupied territory. At the moment, the defendants have been informed of the suspicion in absentia.
The sanction of the article provides for a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 12 to 15 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of 10 to 15 years and with or without confiscation of property.
