Channel of transport of conscripts, homemade UAV and border violators: how the day passed for border guards (VIDEO)
Border guards eliminated the channel of illegal transportation of men of conscription age across the state border using the “Way” system. The channel was established by residents of Rivne and Volyn regions. Men were transported as drivers carrying out international transportation. After leaving, they did not return to Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers documented and exposed the mechanism of illegal activities. The persons involved were also identified and information was obtained on the introduction by the licensee for international transportation to the “Shlyakh” system of citizens of Ukraine who left in one direction.
In December 2023, seven defendants of criminal proceedings were notified of suspicion of organizing illegal transportation of persons across the border (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code) and for unauthorized actions with information processed in automated systems committed by a person who has the right to access it (Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code). Precautions were chosen for the suspects.
The sanction of the articles provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with the confiscation of property. The materials of the case with the indictment are sent to the court for consideration.
In addition, in Transcarpathia, the border guards of the Mukachevo detachment discovered an airstrip of smugglers. In this way, the attackers tried to move cigarettes to Romania. The border guards of the “Dula” department stopped the illegal activity.
After receiving information about the interception of the flight of an unknown aircraft, the response team immediately set out to search for a probable take-off or landing site. On the outskirts of the village of Chornotysiv, border guards found a homemade drone of the aircraft type. Inside the device were almost 400 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps.
Currently, border guards establish a circle of persons involved in the illegal movement of cigarettes. A notice was sent to the Territorial Directorate of BEB in the Transcarpathian region on the detection of signs of a criminal offense provided for in Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods”.
Meanwhile, the border guards of the Podolsk detachment detained two men near the village of Stanislavka, Odessa region. The movement of unknowns near the Ukrainian-Moldovan border was detected by the UAV operator, who adjusted the further actions of the border patrol. The travelers turned out to be men of conscription age — residents of Kyiv and Kharkiv. They took advantage of an online offer to cross the border illegally, which cost each of them 4 thousand dollars.
In relation to men, protocols on administrative offenses under Part 2 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine” have been drawn up.
In total, on February 12, 55 thousand people and 14 thousand vehicles crossed the western borders of Ukraine with the EU and Moldova (in the Chernivtsi region).
26 thousand people left Ukraine. 15 thousand of them crossed the border with Poland, the rest followed to other EU countries and Moldova.
29 thousand people followed to Ukraine, 26 thousand of them - citizens of Ukraine.
