February 16 in Ukraine - Day of Military Journalists
Thanks to military journalists, this war is not like the previous ones, because it is on live coverage for the whole world. They make the lives, victories and needs of our heroes transparent and open to all, just like the crimes of the occupiers.
Unfortunately, the price of this mission can be immeasurable. Dozens of Ukrainian and foreign media have died as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was on this day in 2015 near Debaltseve that the first military journalist Dmitry Labutkin fell victim to Russian aggression.
Also in January 2023, a soldier and photojournalist, an officer of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Anatsky died. A week ago, a state prize in the field of photographic art was established in his honor.
According to the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, at least 79 journalists have been killed since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We remember and bow our heads in mourning for all military journalists, correspondents, press officers, public relations specialists who died in the line of duty.
We respect every fighter and warrior of the information front, who work for the good of humanity and the victory of Ukraine!
