At the beginning of the meeting, Vladimir Martynenko informed the participants of the meeting about changes in the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police. He stressed that the Gromrad is committed to effective dialogue and active interaction with the updated leadership of state bodies.

“I would like to note that from now on, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko is responsible for interaction with the Public Council. I am sure that our cooperation will be effective,” Volodymyr Martynenko said.

A separate issue on the agenda of the meeting was the approval of the Public Council's work plan until the end of 2019. After considering and discussing all the proposals, the participants of the meeting voted for the final option.

“We outlined the directions of our work. And already at the first meeting of 2020, we have to submit a report on the implementation of the newly approved plan,” said the chairman of the Gromrad Council. He proposed that each member of the board prescribe a plan for 2020, so that the next meeting would integrate everyone's vision into the overall action plan.

One of the areas of work of the Gromrad this year will be the inclusion of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the anti-corruption activities. In particular, the representative of the Council is delegated to the departmental commission for assessing corruption risks and monitoring the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In addition, the advisory body participates in the organization of scientific and practical conferences and roundtables on anti-corruption topics. Thus, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Peculiarities of the Application of Anti-Corruption Legislation: From Investigation to Court Verdict” will be held next week on the basis of KHNUVS.

The meeting of the Gromrad was attended by Oleksiy Botnarenko, Head of the Department of ATO Affairs of DPOOND of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He told about the activities of the unit and the activities carried out. Oleksiy Botnarenko appealed to the Gromrad Council with a request for support in engaging the public in solving the issues of adaptation, psychological and medical rehabilitation, socio-economic support of combatants in the east of the country. First of all, it was about assistance in the legislative settlement of these issues.

“This issue is extremely acute for our country. We are ready to join. In particular, we propose to hold a round table on the site of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in which we invite, in particular, representatives of the Office of the President and state authorities, people's deputies, to jointly look for ways to solve this issue,” Volodymyr Martynenko said.

Also during the meeting, the discussion of draft laws, amendments to the current legislation and amendments to the Action Plan of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the preparation of draft regulatory acts for 2019 was held.

“An important factor in our work is the involvement of a wide range of experts. We are talking about scientists, representatives of civil society institutions, state authorities and self-government. We have to think about who to invite to cooperate and in the next two weeks prescribe an algorithm for attracting experts,” Volodymyr Martynenko stressed at the end of the meeting.
