Gromrad under the Ministry of Internal Affairs supports the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the introduction of certain amendments to the traffic regulations

Discussion of the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On Amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 10, 2001 No. 1306” and a number of other draft regulatory acts were on the agenda of the regular meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs what happened at NASA today, June 16.

The meeting was chaired by the head of the Gromrad under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Martynenko, with the participation of the Rector of the National Security Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Chernyaev, Deputy Director of the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Viktor Bulaev.

“Today, the scale of road injuries and mortality on the roads in Ukraine is 5-6 times higher than similar indicators in other countries of Europe. The solution of this problem requires an integrated approach to a number of different tasks, first of all, in the legislative sphere, which is provided for by this draft act. In particular, in order to create safe traffic conditions, reduce the number of attacks on pedestrians that occur in the dark or in conditions of insufficient visibility, it proposes to introduce mandatory use of light-reflecting elements for the timely detection by drivers of pedestrian traffic,” Volodymyr Martynenko said.

According to the head of the Gromrad under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the draft resolution also proposes to allow the movement of bicycles in the lane for route vehicles, which will help reduce injuries among cyclists.

Some of the proposed changes involve bringing into line with the legislation the confirmation of the validity of information on the passage of compulsory medical examination in order to determine the compliance of specialists with the qualification requirements in the direction of training, retraining and professional development of drivers.

In addition, the draft act proposes to specify the requirements for persons trained to drive vehicles and to such vehicles.

Other issues were also discussed at the meeting, in particular the cooperation of young people with the police. After all, the first key link of a successful society is young people - a constant driver of change and creative decisions.

Recall that from June 1, 2020, the system of automatic photo video fixation of traffic violations began to work.
