The Public Council in 2021 will assist the Ministry of Internal Affairs in rule-making activities

The Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Martynenko announced this today, December 11, during the final meeting of the advisory body in 2020. The event was held online in order to discuss proposals for public consultations at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for the next year.

According to Volodymyr Martynenko, members of the Public Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs during 2020 considered at their meetings and in working order all the issues raised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for discussion with the public, and in addition, took direct part in the development of some of them.

Information on consultations with the public in 2020, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 996 of 03.11.2010, was provided by the Deputy Director of the Communication Department Viktor Bulayev, noting that the Ministry actively cooperates with the public.

During the meeting, the effectiveness of public consultations conducted during the year at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as in the central executive bodies, the activities of which are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers through the Minister of Internal Affairs, were analyzed.

Proposals for public consultations for the following year were then discussed.

The agreed indicative plan, as announced by the head of the Gromrad under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will be approved by order of the Ministry and published on the website of the department by the end of the year. The plan will include public discussion of a number of draft regulations and amendments to the current legislation.

Volodymyr Martynenko also assured that the Public Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2021 will actively participate not only in consultations, but also in the development of draft regulations, and it is also planned to monitor the activities of service centers at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Special attention of the Gromrad will be devoted to improving the legislation on the activities of advisory and advisory bodies at state bodies in order to increase their effectiveness.
