The Public Council at the Ministry of Internal Affairs next year will attract the widest circle of participants

At the next meeting of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, held today, December 10, proposals for an indicative plan for public consultations in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 2020 were discussed.

In addition to the proposals provided by the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the participants of the meeting considered proposals for public consultations planned for next year in the central executive bodies, whose activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet through the Minister of Internal Affairs, and in the National Guard.

The coordinated plan, as announced by the Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs Volodymyr Martynenko, will be approved by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by the end of the year and published on the website of the department. The plan will include a public discussion of a number of draft regulations and amendments to the current ones concerning the improvement of the activities of internal affairs bodies and of great social importance.

In addition, during the meeting of the Gromrad, the effectiveness of public consultations conducted in 2019 in the Ministry of Internal Affairs directly, as well as in the National Police, the State Border Service, the State Emergency Service, the State Migration Service and the National Guard were analyzed.

In his turn, Artem Shevchenko, the director of the Department of Communications of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, assured that the department headed by him will continue to promote the interaction of the department with the public next year, in particular the holding of consultations.

One of the agenda items of the meeting was the discussion of the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2019.

According to Serhiy Yaremenko, Head of the Department of UZKPL, in particular, a series of exercises, assessment of corruption risks, as well as roundtables on anti-corruption topics were conducted in accordance with the program. Currently, the active phase of preparation of the project of the Anti-Corruption Program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for 2020-2022 is underway. In January, the project will be published on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and put up for public discussion.

Separately, Volodymyr Martynenko noted that there is a need to establish interaction between the public councils of the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“We have many common interests, so cooperation will contribute to the effectiveness of our activities,” the head of the Gromrad at the Ministry of Internal Affairs is convinced.

He also stressed the need to involve a wider circle of the public in consultations on draft regulations.
