In Kyiv, the police opened criminal proceedings on the fact of obstruction of journalistic activity
Law enforcement officers are looking for a man who provoked a conflict with the film crew of the TV channel. For his actions, he faces up to four years of restriction of liberty.
The Kiev police received a report about the obstruction of journalistic activities near the metro station “Osokorky”. The uniforms of the patrol police and the investigative task force went to the call.
At the scene, the police found out that during the filming, an unknown person provoked a conflict with the employees of the TV channel and tried to yank the microphone from the journalist. By his actions, the offender prevented the shooting, currently law enforcement officers are looking for him.
Information about the incident was entered in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations and criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 2 of Art. 171 (Obstruction of legitimate professional activity of journalists) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to four years of restriction of liberty.
