Kharkiv Police Investigates Circumstances of Obstruction of Journalist
During the execution of the editorial task, unknown men pushed and pushed the man, thereby hindering his professional activities.
A 26-year-old Kharkiv resident, a freelance journalist, addressed the Kharkiv District Police Department No. 2 with a corresponding statement on May 24. The man explained that on May 13, on Jubilee Avenue, he performed an editorial task and asked several questions to an official of the City Council. After that, unknown men began to prevent him from carrying out his work.
According to this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Article 171 (obstruction of legitimate professional activity of journalists) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to 3 years of restriction of liberty.
A pre-trial investigation is being conducted.
