Police of Kyiv region opened criminal proceedings on the fact of threats to journalist
In the city of Brovary, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings due to threats to a journalist on a social network.
So, the journalist turned to the Brovary police department with a statement that on her own page in one of the social networks of the Internet she repeatedly found messages from an unknown person with threats of physical abuse to her address.
Information about the event is included in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations. The police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 345-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Threat or violence against a journalist).
The sanction of the article provides for correctional labor for up to two years or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for up to three years.
