Police opened criminal proceedings on the fact of obstructing the professional activity of journalists in Lviv
According to the journalist, on the territory of one of the Lviv municipal enterprises, an unknown man prevented her from conducting video filming, while damaging the camera.
On May 5, a 20-year-old woman from Lviv, a journalist from one of the television companies, contacted the Lviv district police department with a statement about the obstruction of professional activity.
According to the applicant, in the course of her professional duties, on the territory of one of the Lviv municipal enterprises, an unknown person prevented the film crew from shooting video and damaged the video camera.
According to this fact, the investigators of the Lviv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 171 (Obstruction of legitimate professional activity of journalists) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment - a fine of up to fifty taxable minimum incomes of citizens or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to three years.
A pre-trial investigation continues, law enforcement officers establish the circumstances of the incident.
