Arson of a Radio Svoboda employee's car - a citizen of Kiev will be tried
The Brovary District Prosecutor's Office sent to the court an indictment against a resident of the capital for the facts of intentional destruction of someone else's property by arson, committed according to a previous conspiracy by a group of persons, and influence on a journalist in order to prevent him from performing his professional duties (Part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of article 194, part 3 of article. 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was carried out by investigators of the Brovary Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kiev region.
Investigators of the National Police established that on the night of August 17, 2020 in the city. Brovary group of persons, in a preliminary conspiracy among themselves, set fire to a KIA car belonging to the driver of Radio Svoboda - a member of a journalistic group who used this vehicle to carry out their legal professional activities. While in the courtyard of a high-rise building, they threw an object on the front of the car, from which the vehicle caught fire and was completely destroyed.
At the moment, materials relating to other persons involved in the commission of the crime have been allocated to a separate proceeding.
