Kyiv investigators sent to court the indictment against the man who attacked the film crew of the TV channel

During the video shooting on the territory of Hydropark regarding the observance of quarantine rules, a 54-year-old resident of Kiev region interfered with the shooting and pushed the operator. The defendant faces up to five years in prison.

Recall that on April 2, a journalist from one of the TV channels appealed to the police with a statement about the attack. The woman said that during the shooting at the capital's Hydropark about the observance of quarantine rules on sports grounds, a verbal altercation occurred between the film crew and a stranger. During it, the man interfered with the shooting, tried to tear the equipment out of his hands, pushed the operator, and also expressed an obscene curse.

Police officers established the identity of the offender through operational and investigative measures. He turned out to be a resident of the city of Brovary, born in 1965, who was detained under the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing the crimes provided for in Part 1 of Art. 171 (Obstruction of legitimate professional activity of journalists) and part 2 of Art. 345-1 (Threat or violence against a journalist) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the court decision, the defendant was selected for a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest.

Currently, the pre-trial investigation has been completed and the indictment has been referred to the Dnipro District Court. The man faces up to five years in prison.
