Police reported suspicion to a man who threatened violence against a Poltava journalist

The defendant, who threatened the journalist of the Internet publication “Poltavshchyna” on a social network, is incriminated by Part 1 of Art. 345-1 (Threat or violence against a journalist) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The suspicion is based on the findings of a number of forensic examinations. As part of the criminal proceedings, linguistic, semantic-textual and psychological research were assigned.

The sanction of the criminal article provides for punishment in the form of correctional labor for up to two years or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for up to three years.

A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
