Combined detachment of Odessa law enforcement officers went to protect the safety of citizens in the east of the country
Today, 35 policemen from the battalion of the special purpose police patrol service “Storm”, Izmail District Police Department and the Department of Patrol Police went to Mariupol.
They will replace their colleagues within the framework of the next rotation and for two months will guard strategic facilities, duty at checkpoints and take care of the security of the residents of Donetsk region.
The head of the GUNP in the Odessa region Nikolay Semenyshyn checked the readiness of the consolidated detachment for service and expressed confidence that they, as always, will adequately perform the tasks determined by the command of the Joint Forces Operation.
“It's not your first rotation, you know what you have to do. Your unit has an extremely high authority in the Donetsk region, so I appeal to you: take care of yourself, maintain the traditions of the Odessa police and remember that we are waiting for you,” Mykola Semenyshyn said.
In addition to the leadership, the boys and girls were accompanied on the way by relatives, colleagues, veterans and volunteers, representatives of the clergy and students of schools in Odessa region.
