Land transactions worth UAH 1.4 million - three members of a criminal group were reported in Chernihiv region
It has been established that all three men are residents of Cherkasy region, aged between 26 and 36 years. Each of them performed its role: organization of office activities, search for persons interested in land acquisition, land re-registration.
In the city of Chernihiv, the suspects organized the work of two offices, where from March to April 2020, for monetary remuneration, they collected documents from 72 local residents for, allegedly, registration of land plots in the ownership of these people. For the right to use these documents, each person received 1,000 hryvnias.
Later, through a private notary, a power of attorney was issued for the right to dispose of all these land plots for one person - 140 hectares. This person concluded on behalf of each owner of the land a contract of sale with a legal entity that represented the interests of the members of the group. As a result of this land transaction, the state suffered losses of UAH 1.4 million.
The criminal scheme was exposed and its organizers were established by the operatives of the Directorate of Strategic Investigations in the Chernihiv region and the investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernihiv region.
Based on the evidence received, three members of the group were informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, who in collusion with third parties fraudulently seized land of state importance.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment — imprisonment for a term of five to twelve years with confiscation of property.
