The investigation announced the suspicion of the massacre of two elderly Vinnytsia women detained for the murder of a pensioner
Police detained the attacker on suspicion of killing an 88-year-old resident of Vinnitsa at the end of May. During the investigation, it turned out that the man was involved in the attack on two more women, whom he tried to kill last year in the city. Vinnytsia. The attacker inflicted numerous knife injuries on the victims and fled.
According to the head of the GUNP in the Vinnytsia region Ivan Ishchenko, the preliminary investigation established that the suspect on May 17, 2020, at about four o'clock in the morning, broke through the window into the residence of two sisters aged 69 and 72 for selfish reasons.
He attacked the victims with a knife and inflicted numerous injuries on both victims. Women actively resisted the attacker, called for help, so he fled from the scene of the crime, not bringing his plans to the end.
The detainee, who is in custody, is notified of suspicion of illegal entry into a person's dwelling in accordance with Article 162 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and of committing an unfinished attempt to intentionally murder two people in accordance with Part 3, Article 15, paragraph 1.9, Part 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
For such crimes, a suspect may face life imprisonment.
