They earned up to 100 thousand hryvnias on “bookmarks” of drugs every month — in Luhansk region the organizer and her accomplices will stand trial
Orders were accepted by attackers through instant messengers. Buyers, residents of Lisichansk, were offered cannabis, amphetamine and PvP salts. “Goods” for sale were hidden in children's toys. Sometimes a woman even involved her young child, who acted as a so-called “carrier”.
The operatives of the Strategic Investigations Directorate in the Luhansk region, together with the investigators of the regional police, exposed the illegal activity of the criminal group. It was established that a 29-year-old woman organized the distribution of drugs in the city. She took three previously convicted men as accomplices. It was they, under the control of their leader, who were engaged in the placement of “bookmarks”.
For the most part, their “product” was in demand among drug addicts who, through personal contacts or messengers, were able to acquire cannabis, amphetamine and PvP salts. After paying the funds, they were sent the coordinates of the location of the “bookmarks” made in advance.
It should be noted that when transporting the “goods” to bookmark places, the attackers hid in children's toys, so that in case of detection, law enforcement officers would not stumble upon the hiding place. Sometimes a woman attracted her young child, who acted as a so-called “carrier”.
Every month “business” brought to the group up to 100 thousand hryvnias of “profit”, which was distributed among all participants.
In March 2021, the police detained the leader of the criminal group and her accomplices, the court selected preventive measures - detention with the right to post bail. The woman and one of the participants were paid the amount of bail determined by the court. On the basis of additional evidence received during the pre-trial investigation, the defendants were informed of suspicion of the sale of narcotic and psychotropic substances as part of an organized group and with the involvement of a minor (Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Pre-trial investigations have been completed, the indictment was sent to the court in agreement with the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor's Office. For the crime, the suspect may be threatened with imprisonment for a term of nine to twelve years with confiscation of property.
