“Stay safe”: a chatbot to combat human trafficking was presented in Lviv

Lviv State University of Internal Affairs presented a chatbot to combat human trafficking. The information resource helps to recognize dangerous situations, tells about various forms of modern slavery and advises where to turn for help.

authors of the resource are convinced that such a chatbot will help raise the level of public awareness about the problem of human trafficking and help prevent risky situations. This program contains many infographics, tells about the rules of safe employment, study, travel and online communication. Thanks to the resource, you can quickly find information on how to help relatives or friends who have fallen into modern slavery.

Users are also offered to deepen their knowledge in the field of combating human trafficking by taking a thematic quest and an online training course. Chatbot “Stay Safe” was created thanks to the cooperation of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine, assisted by the Ministry of Social Policy and the

National Police.



“We work closely with the OSCE on combating human trafficking. Most of our projects are interactive and involve the introduction of new techniques for training police officers. We also jointly conduct educational activities aimed at promoting the idea of a safe environment and preventing cases of human trafficking. Such an educational project is the creation of a chatbot “Stay safe”, which will be interesting not only for young people, but also for people of all ages,” said Roman Blaguta, Rector of Lviv DuvS. Crimes in the field of human trafficking are committed using modern technologies. “This chatbot will help people get comprehensive answers to important questions, navigate the situation and find out who to turn to for protection,” said Dmitry Chibisov.


Anna Pylypenko, Chief Specialist of the Department for Monitoring Compliance with European Equality Standards of the Ministry of Social Policy, assured that the Ministry of Social Policy will promote the dissemination of information about the chat bot “Stay Safe” among representatives of regional state administrations and territorial communities. Head of the Department for Combating Human Trafficking Women, Domestic Violence and Gender Equality of the National Social Service Elena Vychor also supported the idea of creating a chatbot to combat trafficking

people and noted that such an information resource will contribute to the identification of persons affected by this crime.


The information content of the chatbot was told by its developers - the head of the department of updating training and practical training of the Lviv DUBS Oleksandra Zakharova, the head of the public organization “Modernyk plus” Elvira Mruchkovska and the inspector of the analytical work department of the Criminal Analysis Department of the National Police of Ukraine Vasyl Nyzhnyk.
