Higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs joined the government information campaign EUkraina
Today, April 15, the National Academy of Internal Affairs and other higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs joined the government information campaign EUkraina, which aims to reveal the practical content of European integration and the advantages and opportunities that appear in the lives of Ukrainians due to the integration of our country into the EU.
The campaign is supported by the Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine and the Association4U project. The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister of Justice Valeriia Kolomiets, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Daria Gaidai, First Vice-Rector of the National Security Service of Ukraine Stanislav Husarev, applicants for higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as Deputy Minister internal affairs Tatyana Kovalchuk.
In her speech, Tatiana Kovalchuk informed the participants of the meeting about the steps taken by the Ministry to implement the state policy of European integration.
In particular, it was about the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by the Ministry. It was emphasized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs was reformed into a civil law enforcement agency of the European model on the basis of the study of the best European practices, and strategic documents for the development of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were developed taking into account the position of European experts. Since the entry into force of the Agreement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has made significant progress in fulfilling its obligations, in particular, a number of tasks in the field of legislative adaptation, the introduction of European standards of police activity, and the conclusion of a number of important cooperation agreements, in particular with the European Police Office, the EU Training Agency employees of CEPOL law enforcement agencies. It was also about ensuring compliance with the requirements of a visa-free regime with the EU, about simplifying the provision of services for citizens.
At the same time, the participants of the meeting agreed that an active civic position and awareness of one's role is the determining component on which success depends. “The European Union is based on common values, and values are, first of all, our perception of the world,” the Deputy Minister stressed. Therefore, it is necessary to start reforms from oneself, with the awareness of one's belonging to the European family.”
