Since the beginning of the year, fire engineers of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed more than 68 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, October 4, 51 sorties were made, during which 264 munitions were found.
Thus, on October 4, the pyrotechnic works group of the Emergency and Rescue Squad of the Special Purpose Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Khmelnytsky region destroyed a hand grenade RGD-33 from the Second World War by detonating in a specially designated place for this purpose.
And in the village of Mykhalivka, Zaporizhzhya region, on the same day on the territory of a private household, obsolete ammunition of the Second World War was found, about which citizens notified the Rescue Service. During the work, the pyrotechnic units detected and seized 58 VNPs: 10 anti-tank mines, 4 anti-personnel mines, 17 grenades, 27 detonators, etc.
At the same time, in Vinnytsia, pyrotechnics destroyed two artillery shells with calibers 105 and 152 mm and an 82-mm mortar mine by blowing. These explosive objects were discovered the day before in the forest areas of Vinnytsia district and on the territory of one of the private households in the village of Serebria, Mogilev-Podolsky district.
A few days earlier, in the Chernivtsi region, fire engines of the State Emergency Service destroyed 3 artillery shells. The first find of the Second World War was discovered by a local resident of the s. A barricade in a field outside the village, namely, a 152 mm artillery shell. Other ammunition was encountered by a man in the field during earthworks in the city. Khotyn. Upon the arrival of pyrotechnics, the finds were identified as World War I artillery shells. All the explosive items found were recovered by the specialists of the pyrotechnic works group and destroyed in the prescribed order by blowing.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, on October 4, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 1.35 hectares of territory and identified and removed 58 VNPs.
At the same time, the pyrotechnic calculations of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Luhansk region examined 4.26 hectares of the area in Severodonetsk and Shchastin districts and detected and recovered 35 explosive objects, namely 26 artillery shells, 7 mortar mines and 2 grenades.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the SNS have seized and destroyed 68 thousand 184 explosive objects, including 889 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly forbidden:
- touch a suspicious object or move it; - fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
- exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heating effects;
- try to independently neutralize the object piggy bank.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
