Since the beginning of the year, fire engineers of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed more than 57 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, August 30, 44 sorties were made, during which 332 munitions were found.
Thus, on August 30 in the Odessa region, pyrotechnics seized and destroyed ammunition from the Second World War. In particular, a 100-kilogram aerial bomb, which was found during earthworks near the village of Shabo, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky district. On the same day, pyrotechnics seized one 105 mm artillery shell in the village of Yaski. The ammunition was destroyed in a specially designated place.
At the same time, in Zhytomyr region, fire brigade technicians of the State Emergency Service of the region destroyed three munitions from the past wars, discovered the day before in the villages of Huta-Zabilotsk and Rakovichi of Zhytomyr district. In the first case, local scrap metal seekers came across suspicious metal objects. Arriving on call, the specialists of the State Emergency Service identified the finds as two mortar mines of 82 mm and 50 mm caliber. In the second case, lovers of quiet hunting came across a 122 mm artillery shell in the forest.
In turn, the specialists of the group of pyrotechnic works and underwater demining of the Emergency and Rescue Unit of the Special Purpose of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region destroyed an artillery shell with a caliber of 76 mm from the Second World War in a specially designated place. Explosive object in an open area near the village. The outcrops of Chernihiv district were discovered by local residents on the same day. The fire service technicians who arrived at the scene examined the surrounding area, but found no other dangerous objects.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, on August 31, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 1.74 hectares of territory and identified and removed 61 VNPs.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the SNS have seized and destroyed 57 thousand 519 explosive objects, including 800 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
- touch a suspicious object or move it; - fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
- exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound
- impacts and heating; - try to neutralize on their own find.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
