Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, July 5, 19 sorties were made, during which 57 munitions were found.
Thus, on July 5, at 12:00pm, specialists of the group of pyrotechnic works and underwater demining of the Emergency and Rescue Unit of the Special Purpose of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region destroyed an artillery shell of 85 mm caliber from the Second World War, which was discovered the day before by the owners during the execution cellar in a private residential building in the village. Talalaivka Nizhyn district. Upon encountering the dangerous find, the people immediately stopped all work and called the Rescue Service “101”. Before the arrival of the SNS sappers, the place of detection of the explosive object was guarded by employees of the National Police. During the survey of the surrounding area, emergency responders did not find any other explosive objects.
On June 4, at 13:00 the pyrotechnic works group of the Emergency and Rescue Detachment of the Special Purpose Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Khmelnytsky region destroyed three 88 mm artillery shells from the Second World War. They were found in the tract “Black Forest”, near the village of Yarmolyntsi. During a control survey of the terrain, pyrotechnics additionally discovered 10 artillery shells of 88 and 76 mm caliber, as well as 17 M-24 hand grenades from the Second World War.
On July 3, in Zhytomyr region, pyrotechnics destroyed five munitions from past wars, which were discovered the day before in the city. Malyn and in the village. So, in the first case, in one of the garages located on the territory of the garage cooperative of the city, a man was cleaning the observation pit and came across suspicious metal objects. The SNS specialists, whom he immediately informed of the find, identified them as two artillery shells of 76 and 45 mm calibers and two more 82 mm mortar mines. And in the forest area, which is near the village. Pies, lovers of “quiet hunting” came across a 152 mm artillery shell lying in the thickets.
On July 2, a group of pyrotechnic works and underwater demining of the special purpose emergency rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area destroyed 51 explosive objects by controlled detonation. So, on July 1, during the excavation work on the construction site, at the address pr. Heroes of Ukraine, 3 artillery shells of 76 mm caliber from the past wars were discovered. The pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service during the survey of the territory additionally identified 48 more. Hazardous finds are classified as 43 artillery shells with a caliber of 76 mm, 5 - 20 mm.
In addition, work is underway on demining the liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, during July 5, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, examined 1.39 hectares of territory and identified and seized 42 VNPs.
At the same time, the pyrotechnic calculations of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Luhansk region examined 9.8 hectares of the area in Severodonetsk district, where 27 explosive objects were detected and seized, namely: 19 artillery shells and 8 mortar mines.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 33,148 explosive items, including 207 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:

fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something; exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives
