Since the beginning of the year, fire engineers of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed almost 13 thousand explosive objects

Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, April 12, 79 sorties were made, during which 185 munitions were found.

Thus, on April 12, pyrotechnics of the Dnipropetrovsk region were involved in the destruction of an obsolete artillery shell of 152 mm caliber, which was discovered by a man during a walk near the village of Myshurin Rih, Verkhneprodnivsky district.

At the same time, in Zhytomyr region, fire engines of the State Emergency Service destroyed six units of explosive objects from the Second World War, which were discovered the day before in the territory of the Pulynsky district. Yes, in the village. Local residents of Andriyivka discovered several suspicious metal objects during economic work on their own personal plot, they turned out to be two 76 mm artillery shells and one RGD-33 hand grenade. Under similar circumstances, three 76 mm artillery pieces were discovered by peasants and near c. Tenkivka.

On the same day, 32 different caliber artillery shells were destroyed by the pyrotechnic works group of the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Detachment of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Khmelnytskyi region by blowing up. All of them were discovered in a field near the city. Izyaslav and in the village of Lischany, Izyaslav district.

In the Nikolaev area, fire engines of the State Emergency Service, by controlled detonation, destroyed 125 mm artillery shells of the past wars. A report about the dangerous find was received from police officers, it was said that the man found it in an open area near the Yasna Zorya station, located in the Nikolaev district, and reported it to the number 102.

In turn, in the Chernihiv region on April 12 in the open territory near the village. Levkovichi, Chernihiv district, local residents found 15 items that looked like explosives. Specialists of the group of pyrotechnic works and underwater demining of the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Detachment of the Regional Directorate of the State Emergency Service, who arrived on call, established that these were artillery shells with a caliber of 45 mm from the Second World War. The SNS sappers surveyed the surrounding area and additionally discovered 8 more 45 mm artillery shells, 1 76 mm artillery shell, 2 82 mm mortar mines and 1 107 mm mine. Explosive items were destroyed in the prescribed manner.

A day earlier in the Kherson region, pyrotechnics destroyed seven 76 mm artillery shells from the past wars, which were discovered by local residents in the Lower Sirogozhsky district near the village. Lower Torgai. Pyrotechnics inspected the area of the detection site, the ammunition was seized, transported to the detonation site and destroyed in the prescribed manner.

In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, during April 12, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, examined 2.09 hectares of territory and identified and removed 37 VNPs. In the Luhansk region, 12.1 hectares of the area in Shchastin and Severodonetsk districts were surveyed, where 22 mortar mines and 14 grenades were detected and recovered.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 12,941 explosive items, including 25 aircraft bombs.

Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!

It is strictly prohibited:

touch or move a suspicious object;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something; exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because virtually all explosives
are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heat effects; try to neutralize the find independently.

Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
