Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed more than 64 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. Nowadays, in the season of “quiet hunting”, citizens are increasingly encountering dangerous finds that rain washes to the surface of the earth. During the last day alone, September 20, 51 sorties were made, during which 176 munitions were found.
Thus, on September 20, 29 explosive objects were destroyed by two groups of pyrotechnic works of the Special Emergency Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Namely: in the village of Rakivchyk, Kolomyisky district, during the demining of the combat zone, 3 units of MM-50mm, one MM-81mm, 12 M-36 hand grenades, six units of PPM 36Mera, two M-42 units, as well as redoubts were found and destroyed in the forest area. Recently, specialists of the pyrotechnic works group of the special purpose emergency rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region were involved in the destruction of the obsolete artillery shell “AS-105” in the Kryvyi Rih district. On September 19, a 76 mm artillery shell of the Second World War was destroyed by the pyrotechnic works group of the Emergency Rescue Detachment of the Special Purpose Department of the State Emergency Service in the region. In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In particular, during September 20, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 1.84 hectares of territory and identified and removed 35 VNPs.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 64,055 explosive items, including 870 aircraft bombs.
