Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed almost 56 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. Only during the last day, August 24, 4 sorties were made, during which 35 munitions were found.
So, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region last day, fire engines of the State Emergency Service destroyed 9 explosive objects. In particular, in the village of Yamnytsya, Ivano-Frankivsk district, one 105 mm wartime artillery shell was found in the field; in the village of Rozhnyativ, Kalush district, four Z-23 hand grenades and four other war-time VNPs found in the courtyard of a residential building were neutralized.
On August 23, the Rescue Service “101” received a message that looked like ammunition in the field, near the village of Stepove, Novopil rural territorial community, Kryvyi Rih district, in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The find turned out to be an outdated 152 mm artillery shell. Pyrotechnics carefully examined the scene, no additional explosive objects were found. The pyrotechnic works group of the special purpose emergency rescue unit of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region neutralized the ammunition by controlled detonation.
At the same time, in the Nikolaev area, a pyrotechnic group, by controlled detonation, destroyed three 152-mm artillery shells and an air bomb FAB-50 of the past wars. The day before, dangerous finds were discovered in the city. Nikolaev (during the search for scrap metal on ul. Olzhycha) and in the village of Pokrovka, Ochakivska TG, Mykolaiv district (during a walk). Citizens notified police officers and rescuers about the finds.
A day earlier, a warehouse of obsolete munitions from World War II, discovered during earthworks in the village of Stoky, Lviv district, at a distance of 200 m from residential buildings, was destroyed in the Lviv region. On the same day, the pyrotechnic group of the 2nd Special Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine seized and destroyed by the established order of 8 artillery shots of 75 mm caliber during World War II.
And in Sumy region on August 22, a group of pyrotechnic works of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (m. Romny), work was carried out to neutralize 29 mortar mines (50 mm) and 4 artillery shells (76, 45 mm) of the Second World War. Dangerous objects were found in the forest near the village of Perekopivka, Romensky district. Obsolete ammunition was taken to a specially designated place and destroyed by detonation.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, during August 24, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 2.05 hectares of territory and identified and removed 35 VNPs.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the SNS have seized and destroyed 55 thousand 618 explosive objects, including 735 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
touch a suspicious object or move it;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something; exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives
are sensitive to mechanical, sound and heating effects; try to neutralize the finding independently. Note that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this by number “101” or “102” and in no case try to identify yourself
found ammunition.
