Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed almost 46 thousand explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, July 26, 53 sorties were made, during which 929 munitions were found.
In particular, on July 26, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Zhytomyr region destroyed 29 munitions from past wars, which were discovered the day before in the village. Krasnobirka of Radomyshl territorial community of Zhytomyr district. A dangerous echo of the war was encountered by scrap metal seekers, while surveying the area near the settlement. The SNS specialists who arrived at the scene of the detection of explosive objects identified them as 21 artillery shells of 45 mm caliber, 4 artillery shells of 50 mm caliber and 4 more artillery shells of caliber 76 mm.
On the same day, 27 explosive objects were destroyed by the personnel of the pyrotechnic works group of the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, namely: in the village of Rakivchyk, Kolomyia district, during the implementation of work on the planned cleaning of the territory, 81 three were found and destroyed mm mortar mines, twenty-three 50 mm mortar mines, one RG-42 hand grenade of the Second World War.
In Mykolaiv region this week, 405 artillery shells with a caliber of 45 mm were destroyed by the pyrotechnic group of the special purpose emergency rescue squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the region. Explosive finds were discovered during a technical survey of the territory in Pervomaisky district (1 km from the village of Vradievka) during 20-23 July, in accordance with the annual plan for demining of the Nikolaev area.
On July 23, specialists of the pyrotechnic works group of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region destroyed obsolete ammunition discovered in Dniester district. An unknown object, outwardly similar to an explosive, was stumbled upon by local residents on a personal plot in the village. Dolynyans of Nedoboivska TG. Pyrotechnic group specialists who arrived at the scene of the challenge identified the object as a 76mm artillery shell from the First World War.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, over the past day, the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO was conducted, identified and seized 43 VNPs and examined 1.35 hectares of territory for the presence of GNP. Pyrotechnic calculations of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Luhansk region examined 8.27 hectares of the area in Severodonetsk and Shchastin districts, where 31 explosive objects were detected and seized, namely: 25 artillery shells, 3 mortar mines and 3 grenades.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service have seized and destroyed 45,940 explosive items, including 380 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
- touch a suspicious object or move it; - fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
- exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound
- impacts and heating; - try to neutralize on their own find.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition.
