Since the beginning of the year, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have seized and destroyed almost 22,000 explosive objects
Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carry out daily work to survey the territory of the country, identify, seize and destroy explosive objects from past wars. During the last day alone, May 17, 77 sorties were made, during which 303 munitions were found.
Thus, on May 17, the pyrotechnic group of the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine carried out work on the survey of the territory of the Kharkiv region for the detection, seizure and neutralization of explosive objects of the Second World War, in particular, near the village. Khoroshevo and s. Pisochin in Kharkiv district, in Solonitsivka village, Dergachiv district, in the village. Shestakovo, Volchansky district, as well as in the city of Kharkiv. A total of 18 munitions were destroyed, of which: 3 artillery shells of caliber 122 and 76 mm and 15 mortar mines of caliber 82 and 50 mm.
On the same day, 8 explosive objects were destroyed in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. In particular, in the village of Svitanok, Ivano-Frankivsk district, one 105 mm artillery shell and two 75 mm artillery shells of World War II were detected in the open area; in the village of Rybnoe, Ivano-Frankivsk district, in the open area of the forest area, five anti-tank shells were detected in the open area of the forest area mines during World War II.
At the same time, the group of underwater demining and special diving works of the Special Works of the Mobile Rescue Center of the Emergency Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine left for Obolonsky district of Ukraine. In Kiev, where on the banks of the Dnieper River, opposite the fishing and sports base “Emeraldova”, vacationers found a suspicious object similar to ammunition. Arriving at the scene, pyrotechnics identified the dangerous find as an RGD-33 hand grenade. Then the pyrotechnics divers surveyed the coastal zone and the water area of the Dnieper River with the help of underwater metal detectors. The seized explosive object was transferred to the pyrotechnic calculation of the MRI of the SR of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for further destruction in the prescribed manner.
In addition, work is underway on the demining of liberated territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thus, on May 17, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the territory of Donetsk region, where the PLO is conducted, surveyed 1.43 hectares of territory and identified and removed 6 VNPs.
In the Luhansk region, 7.2 hectares of the area in Severodonetsk district were surveyed, where 42 units of explosive objects were detected and seized.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the pyrotechnic units of the SNS have seized and destroyed 21 thousand 882 explosive objects, including 96 aircraft bombs.
Therefore, in order to prevent accidents among the population in case of detection of explosive objects, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine once again appeals to citizens with a request to observe the rules of safe handling of explosive or unknown objects!
It is strictly prohibited:
touch a suspicious object or move it;
fill it with liquids, cover it with soil or cover it with something;
to exert sound, light, thermal or mechanical effects on a suspicious object, because almost all explosives are sensitive to mechanical, sound effects and heating;
try to neutralize the find yourself.
Remember that in case of detection of explosive objects, it is necessary to immediately report this at the number “101” or “102” and in no case try to independently identify the found ammunition!
