How was the camp meeting with artillery and anti-tank units of the Eastern ATO
The final stage of the camp gathering with artillery and anti-tank units of the Eastern ATO of the National Guard of Ukraine, which lasted near Mariupol since August 30, was tactical exercises with combat shooting. The work of all units was evaluated according to the time and accuracy of the task and the consistency of the calculations.
During the month in the field, the fighters of the separate special purpose detachment “Azov” of the military unit 3057 and the special purpose battalion “Donbass” of the 15th Slavic Regiment of the National Guard were engaged in combat coordination of actions during the execution of tasks for fire damage to the enemy.
The military in practice worked out actions as part of artillery batteries in defensive combat, taking into account the acquired experience and practice of unit management in the area of the operation of the Joint Forces and the Anti-Terrorist Operation.
At the final stage of the exercises for artillerymen and mortars, tactical exercises were conducted as part of artillery and mortar batteries with combat firing. The work of all units was evaluated according to the time and accuracy of the task and the consistency of the calculations. The defeat of training targets occurred both during the day and at night.
According to the head of the camp assembly Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Kalyuzhny, the fighters should act confidently in the dark, because in the area of the Joint Forces it is at this time that the enemy troops are most activated. Although the equipment is assigned to certain areas away from the line of contact, artillery soldiers must always be on the alert.
Alexey Kalyuzhny added that all tasks assigned to the artillerymen during the event were fulfilled. Officers also improved their skills in managing artillery units during combat work.
“Commanders once again practiced directing the actions of their subordinates during the combat use of artillery, and the combat shootings that took place at the final stage demonstrated a high level of performance. the readiness of the artillerymen and their readiness to perform any assigned tasks,” the officer said in summing up the results.
