The first OSEA boat for the State Border Guard Service will arrive in Ukraine in the spring - Denis Monastyrsky
This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine today, October 29, during a visit to the French shipbuilding company OSEA.
Denis Monastyrskyi inspected the progress of the construction of boats carried out within the framework of the contract between the company OSEA and the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“Next month, the first boat will be launched, factory tests of our vessel will be carried out. In the spring we expect him in Odessa. In addition, the Ukrainian crew of this boat will undergo appropriate training, as well as we will prepare technical personnel for maintenance”, - said Denis Monastyrsky.
The head of the law enforcement agency noted that these vessels are urgently needed by the Maritime Guard of the DPSU to ensure the interests of the state and society at sea in the Azov-Black Sea basin.
Denis Monastyrsky stressed that an important condition of the contract remains the fact that 5 out of 20 boats will be manufactured in Ukraine. Which in the future will allow us to independently service ships and develop their own production.
In 3 years, Ukrainian border guards will receive 20 vessels for border protection, surveillance operations and counter DRG.
Also, under the terms of the framework intergovernmental agreement signed in Paris on November 19, 2019 by the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and France, a quarter of the order will be executed by a domestic shipbuilding enterprise using French technologies.
