Water police of Donetsk region stepped in on patrol

From today, May 3, the coast of the Sea of Azov is patrolled by a police boat. In addition, in places of recreation of people and beaches, foot patrols are in service, which carry out preventive work with citizens regarding the rules of safe rest on the water and compliance with quarantine restrictions.

For the fifth year in a row, a police boat has been successfully patrolling the coast of Donetsk region. Today the boat was lowered into the water. Thus, the police are preparing for the opening of the holiday season.

Water police serve more than 100 km of coastline of the Sea of Azov.

Among the duties of police officers - to ensure public safety and order in the water bodies of the state; to prevent, detect, stop and document offenses committed on water bodies and water transport infrastructure; to counteract crime using watercraft, unmanned aircraft and helicopters; participation in special operations; provide assistance during accidents and emergencies on water bodies, rescue people; ensure the safety of navigation within the competence.

The main task is the fight against poaching. Also, the water police conducts joint raids with border guards and fish inspection to comply with the rules for entering the water area of small vessels.

Police officers tested all service transport systems and went on duty.

In addition, employees of the preventive unit as part of the foot patrols conduct conversations with citizens on compliance with the rules of safe rest on the water and quarantine restrictions.

Also in summer, additional bicycle, motorcycle patrols and equestrian police will work in the resort areas of Donetsk region. This will speed up the response in areas where the car will not pass, will allow for a police presence and increase the level of safety of citizens in places of rest.
