Identified 10 areas of possible approach of migrants from Belarus — Denis Monastyrsky
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky said on the TV talk show “The Right to Power” that there is no “normal border” between Ukraine and Russia, as well as Ukraine and Belarus, and that 10 sites will be specially protected due to the possibility of the approach of migrants from Belarus.
“There are border guards, the border is marked, but there is no border structure. And this is our general task, the task of the whole Government, the President, society, because it is built on citizens' taxes - next year to build the border between Ukraine and Russia, between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus. We are talking about more than a thousand kilometers of state border,” he said.
The Minister informed that 10 areas have been identified where the main approach of migrants to the state border of Ukraine can take place.
“It is there that the border guards will be strengthened in the first place by the National Guard and the National Police. In addition, the main message is the consolidation of all efforts,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added.
Denis Monastyrsky also noted that the meeting of the National Security Council also discussed the units of the terrorist drones, which, if necessary, will be involved in protecting the border. In addition, he noted that at points of possible aggravation it makes sense to conduct training on territorial defense.
Also, according to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he gave an instruction - to raise all public formations for the protection of public order near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, which must undergo appropriate training.
As a reminder, Denis Monastyrsky said that the border with Belarus will be additionally protected by 8.5 thousand soldiers of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, NGU and policemen.
