Military attachés of Sweden, Norway and Denmark visited guards in the area of the PLO
Today, May 12, in the area of the operation of the Joint Forces, the military attaches of Sweden, Denmark and Norway visited military unit 3035 and one of the checkpoints of the National Guard of Ukraine. Today's events are only part of the program of visiting a foreign delegation to familiarize themselves with security policy, the operational situation in the area of the Joint Forces and the current state of implementation of tasks on ceasefire and stabilization of the demarcation line of the parties.
The delegation included Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Ukraine Captain 2nd Rank Björn Wilburn, Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine Captain Felix Ebbestad 2nd Rank and Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine Lieutenant Colonel Boye Lillerud.
On the basis of the 15th Slavic Regiment, the foreign delegation was familiarized with the features of the functions of the National Guard in the area of the operation of the United Forces and presented samples of military equipment and weapons that are equipped with the units of the NGU.
On the territory of the unit, military attaches paid tribute to the dead Ukrainian servicemen near the Memorial Stela.
The delegation also visited one of the checkpoints. On the spot, foreign colleagues got acquainted with the specifics and conditions of service of guards from the United Forces, which provide isolation and containment measures. Foreign colleagues were told about the order of movement in the area through checkpoints, the results of such measures and vivid examples of prevention of crimes and offenses.
“We and other representatives of the Scandinavian attachés wanted to visit and communicate with representatives of the Ukrainian involved defense military structures and with the OSCE. This is not our first visit to this line. But this is the first time since Russia has stepped up its troop presence near the Ukrainian border. Our goal here is to find out how this affected the course of the operation of the Joint Forces and, in general, on the Ukrainian formations of the security and defense system. The National Guard showed a high level of professionalism in carrying out their assignments, and I also appreciated their extraordinary friendly team spirit. It was very valuable for us to see the real conditions on the positions. We are very grateful that everything was shown to us and accepted so gladly, - said the defense attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Boye Lillerud.
Note that, according to the information of the Joint Forces headquarters, on May 11, the militants of the Russian-occupation formations violated the conditions of a full and comprehensive ceasefire in the area of the operation of the United Forces five times.
