Truck with counterfeit Russian liquid for the production of fuel was detained at the Goptovka checkpoint
Law enforcers continue measures to prevent the movement of various liquids from the territory of the aggressor to Ukraine, from which counterfeit fuel is subsequently manufactured.
Thus, recently in Kharkiv region a number of sanctioned searches were carried out at a plant for the production of fuel and gas stations. During the searches, 738,000 liters of oil products, equipment, financial and economic documentation, computer equipment for a total amount of 54 million hryvnias were seized.
During the operational support of criminal proceedings under Art. 204 Criminal Code of Ukraine “Illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excisable goods”, operational officers of the state border service received information about the arrival at the “Goptovka” checkpoint from the territory of Russia of a truck using which the movement of fuel and lubricants under the guise of a solution was carried out alcoholic — etheric.
In the course of investigative and operational measures, operational officers together with investigators of the fiscal service and SBU employees under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office conducted an authorized search of the specified truck within the framework of criminal proceedings.
During the search, almost 21 tons of alcohol solvent based on methanol were found and seized, which was imported from the Russian Federation to the territory of Ukraine under the guise of an ether-alcohol mixture without paying the relevant taxes. It was also established that the cargo was intended for the aforementioned fuel production plant. The estimated cost of the withdrawn mixture is about 1 million UAH.
Further investigative actions are ongoing.
